Cassie was frightened but delighted to see a gray, South Korean friend. My dad got the gray one for a work trip VERY far away, and he loved it. Neither my mom or I am authorized to drive the rental (we’re a family of rules) and my dad isn’t feeling well, so the gray guy will sit until tomorrow.
The gray Rogue isn’t bad, but the Sun and Sound Touring Package makes the Rogue a very good, competitive car. My sister loves Cassie so far. Contrary to what people on here say, the Rogue is a decent machine.

People here shit on Nissan mostly because of CVTs.
One of my in-laws said he traded their Sentra for a new civic, cause “it doesn’t have a CVT like the Sentra”. You should saw his face when I told him his civic is a CVT.

That tells you how shit Nissan’s CVT is.

WOW. A guy at Honda wasn’t doing his job.
Then, you have my family. As you probably know, Cassie is my sister’s second Rogue, and everyone knew and loved the old Rogue. So, a CVT was a strong desire for my mom and my sister. My mom got her CVT back with her CR-V, but she missed it in her (now my) RAV4.

My sister likes it. I can’t really tell the difference, but I just have an old fashioned four-speed auto.

I prefer my Pathfinder’s CVT than my Forester’s CVT.

It gets weird. My RAV4 was built in Canada, my sister’s Rogue was built in Japan (a lot of them aren’t), and the rental Rogue was built in South Korea. My mom’s CR-V was built in the United States.
Oh, and the CR-V was also built in Mexico and Canada. Globalization, man.

I mean, I’ve heard of things being built in Mexico or Canada, but never a Japanese car being built in South Korea...I mean, you never hear of a Kia or Hyundai built in Japan 0_o

Renault Samsung Motors had been building some Rogues for Nissan due to capacity restrictions in Nissan’s own plants, but I think they may have stopped recently.

That’s exactly what it said on the build sticker. Thank you for clarifying! These are probably more volume than Nissan expected, especially because all of the Korean Rogues are lower trims. Also, this Rogue is a baby (July 2019 build, purchased by Enterprise two weeks ago), so the Korean thing is still going.
Based on previous searches, they’ve been doing this since at least the 2018 model year, if not earlier.
Update: Found an article saying it was ending, like now. A neat piece of history.

It’s a victim of the spat between Japan and South Korea. Japan became quite not friendly to Korea in August. And maybe there were signs of it in July as well.

The announcement the build deal was ending was from last fall.

That’s some Nostradamus level prescience then. ;)
( I guess I should have said it sounds like it is a victim of it. I just assumed it must be that since the timing correlates.)
